the Japanese are very protective of the genetic information *ahem ahem* of their cattle so getting 'samples' isn't cheap either. wagyu strains of cattle in the US are all crossbreeds with our domestic cattle so to get 'true' wagyu... you're going to have to import the meat from Japan which as you would guess, is CATASTROPHICALLY expensive. :D

If you think this is expensive since a lot of Japanese do eat wagyu time to time then think of the Caviar instead where small percentage of people only got a taste of it. Beef is beef is a silly argument when you haven't taste actual shit beef, although regular beef is just fine. But wagyu based on study says its a bit healthier than regular feed raised cows although those benefits goes out the window if you feed the cow too much synthetic feeds and eat too much of it so it's kinda pointless. It's fine if you don't want to try it but don't announce with little clue about it, it'll comes as just a spite to those who try it even if they're not that well off people.
